product details & reviews
'Here Comes The Fuzz' is the debut album from DJ extraordinaire Mark Ronson. A mixture of inspired 70's samples and guest appearances from artists as diverse as Ghostface Killa and Jack White, the album is a triumphant mixture of hip-hop and funk that is sure to get any party started. Includes the single 'Ooh Wee'.
Sep 2003
Mark Ronson's resume is already propped up by some fairly weighty remixes for superstars such as Jay-Z, Outkast, Moby, Nelly Furtado and more. However, it's time for the main act as Ronson himself takes centre stage with his debut set. On 'Here Comes The Fuzz', Ronson is reveals a flexible and ferocious list of contributors as Sean Paul, White Stripes frontman Jack White, Tweet, Rivers Cuomo (on the deliciously Cuomo-esque 'I Suck'), Nate Dogg, Q Tip, Mos Def and Nikka Costa all pile in.
“I made a list of people I wanted to work with and a lot of them came through,” Mark says modestly. But it's the man himself who plays all the instruments on the set as well as steering the project from behind the production desk. A pretty remarkable talent in all, this Mark Ronson fella is shaping up to be a true revolutionary.
- Q (11/03, p.120) - 3 stars out of 5 - "...There's no mistaking Ronson's gift for thinking outside the loop and packing a track with anarchic energy..."

English, superstar DJ Mark Ronson moved to New York, USA at the age of eight--with his stepfather Mick Jones of AOR veterans Foreigner--Ronson began playing in funk rock bands in his early teens before discovering hip-hop and buying his first decks at the age of 17. He began DJing for club-organizer Peter Gatien and was hired by Sean "Puffy" Combs to play at record company events. Before long, he was playing at parties organized by fashion icons such as Tommy Hilfiger and the cream of the east coast rap scene. His first production successes were remixes for Jay-Z, Outkast and Moby. Ronson used his bulging contact book to great effect when recording his debut album, 2003's HERE COMES THE FUZZ, employing Mos Def, Sean Paul, Nate Dogg, Q-Tip, Jack White (the White Stripes), and Rivers Cuomo (Weezer) as guest vocalists. In 2004, Ronson launched his own Allido label, in partnership with Sony BMG, scoring a notable success two years later with the debut album by rapper Rhymefest. Ronson's second album, VERSION, is one of the most eagerly anticipated sets of 2007
