Outstanding
13 July, 2008
I was a little worried this album wasnt going to live up to Waterloo to Anywhere...i shouldnt have worried, it far surpasses it! Clever lyrics perfectly delivered, tons of variety from acoustic numbers to tunes you can really dance to, songs that get better with every listen, this has all the ingredients of a great album. They may not be as popular with the masses as some of the more mainstream indie-pop bands, but i wonder how many of those bands would give their right arm to have written a tune as catchy as "Plastik Hearts" or as inspiring as "Truth Begins"? One of the most under-rated bands in the world? It would appear so...

It was worth the wait
30 June, 2008
Many people questioned the late release of this album, its recording being announced many months ago.
It was, most definitely, worth the wait. With bob along tracks, chilled out tunes and power riffs that we have come to expect of a band containing Carl Barat, this album is a pleasant surprise, not following the usual 'second album syndrome' experienced by many british indie acts.
Listeners can expect a multi influenced album, with some tracks in the mould of waterloo to anywhere, but also with clear influences from Barat's previous encounters with The Strokes and The Libertines.
A must buy for any indie enthusiast, this could prove to be a defining record after the tragic fallout of the libertines, and could well be the soundtrack of the summer.
