Martyn Joseph comes across like Billy Bragg jamming with Mark Knopfler. His first solo album in five years, the mouthful-of-a-title, ‘Whoever It Was That Brought Me Here Will Have To Take Me Home’ is a blissful amalgamation of acoustic guitars, touching voice and personal lyrics. This is a moving, unpretentious record that proves there is still worthy work to come from this hugely talented artist.
