product details & reviews
After reinvigorating the world of the Caped Crusader with BATMAN BEGINS and THE DARK KNIGHT, Christian Bale turns his talents to an altogether different franchise with this fourth film in the TERMINAROR series. The Welsh actor plays John Connor, who joins forces with Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington) to battle Skynet. TERMINATOR SALVATION is directed by McG (CHARLIE'S ANGELS).
Jul 2009
The Terminator saga is back with Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins - the first of three films starring Christian Bale as John Connor.
Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor (Bale) is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.
- McG has sparked a moribund franchise back to life, giving fans the post-apocalyptic action they've been craving since they first saw a metal foot crush a human skull two decades ago - Empire
- This is the film TERMINATOR fans have been desperate to see. There's a damn good film here - Sunday Mail
- As in the previous two movies, there is, along with the extreme violence and destruction, a lot of wit in the proceedings - The Observer
- The TERMINATOR story recharges with a post-apocalyptic jolt of energy. Frantic and full of welcome ties to the past, it also ploughs new ground with purpose - Total Mail
- Darker, grimmer and more stylistically single-minded than its two relatively giddy predecessors, TERMINATOR SALVATION boasts the kind of singular vision that distinguished the James Cameron original, the full-throttle kinetics of SPEED and an old-fashioned regard for human (and humanoid) heroics - Variety

Great

I am a fan of the terminator films and you do really need to have seen at least the first 2 to understand the plot. Didn't like the third film at all but this one was much better.. Kept my attention throughout the whole film and lots of special effects and a few twists. Would definitely recommend this film to others.

John Connor & the resistence.
28 November, 2009
Terminator four catches up with John Connor and the members of the resistence after 'Judgement day', unfortunately it appears that the 'Rise of the machines' has affected John Connor's hearing as Christian Bale shouts alot throughout this movie.
This is the weakest of the four movies, the first was the original, the second had the best special effects, the third had a female terminator and the fourth had a big special effects budget.
The script is limited and the following phrases "John Connor, " resistence" and "kyle Reece" are used too often.
I have given this film one star purely for the special effects.
Don't expect too much or you will be bitterly disappointed.

Awsome!... but still a bit off
20 October, 2009
terminator salvation, focuses on the events taking after judgement day, leading up to the some very interesting situations, explosions, gun fire, the effects are brilliant, immediately after the intro cedits, you feel as if your in a truly epic and disasterous future reality. The story makes you feel like your in with the characters at the time of the events, however the film sometimes focus' too much on shouting etc rather than sensible script , but you tend to ignore this aspect especially when you see the action, the story links in very well with the terminator universe, but feels short and is much harder to understand the situation if you have not seen the other films.
overrall the film draws a nice 4/5 stars mainly due to the little things such as script and a general sense of chaos which can be very confusing at times.
