Second album, coming just six months after her debut 'Premiere', from comely young Welsh opera diva who was offered a six-album deal with Universal as soon as she left college and who is spearheading the classical crossover boom in the UK. On this album she puts her powerful voice to a selection of hymns, pop standards and arias - several of which are traditionally performed by men and have never before been recorded by a woman.

Katherine Jenkins has become every inch the glamorous diva. 'Second Nature' is the brilliant follow up to her stunning debut 'Premiere'. An altogether more mature sounding recording, with Jenkins' voice more confident and accomplished, the album features a diverse choice of repertoire from opera arias to popular songs that further confirm her status as a rising star.

A truly beautiful, beautiful voice and an album full of songs to which her rich and mellow tones are well suited. Jenkins' voice is much kinder on the ears than most female operatic divas and this is the first album by a classical female artist that I have bought for that exact reason - her voice is extraordinarily pleasant to listen to for us mere mortals who aren't usually fans of anything operatic. I applaud the so called "crossover" albums as it gets people like me listening to a much broader musical range than the normal pop and rock. I applaud Jenkins - this album is a joy from start to finish - even if I don't understand most of the songs as they're not in English.

While still in her mid-twenties, Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins emerged as Britain's all-time best-selling classical artist. Although she was plagued by critics' charges that her success was more a result of physical beauty than musical talent, her popularity was unassailable and her classical reinterpretations of pop recordings -- most notably Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" - certainly did not stunt her fanbase. Born in Wales in 1980, Jenkins fell under the sway of classical music early in childhood, joining the Royal School of Church Music Cathedral Singers and serving with the National Youth Choir of Wales. In the '00s, she made the most of a mammoth (seven-figure) contract and ascended to the level of U.K. superstar.
