I loved this game. Not in the sense that the game is perfect but that I could forgive it's faults, which were legion. Two thirds of the doors in the game do not work, leaving a lot of dead ends. The fog effect is badly done and essentially it looks a little bland and unimpressive.
But the game has soul. The story gets under your skin in a way that few videogames do. In terms of pacing and character so much of it is perfectly judged. It's not for everyone but, if you let it, Alex's Sheperd ordeal will suck you in and leave an impression long after you've put down the pad.
Silent Hill is a fascinating, adult game, a geniue alternative to the lastest Resident evil.
