Coming from the home of video game cricket, Ashes Cricket 2009 is set to build on the heritage that Codemasters has enjoyed with its best-selling Brian Lara series and will continue to lead the field with great batting, bowling and fielding gameplay and authenticity that made the series a huge hit with cricket fans the world over.
Delivering all the exciting, athletic, skilful and technical elements of the sport, the game's comprehensive 'Ashes' mode will feature all five Tests played out at carefully detailed recreations of each authentic venue. In addition, gamers will also be able to play Test matches, One Day Internationals, 20 over games and a series of challenge modes. The high definition current generation versions will feature full online multiplayer as well as support for local multiplayer games.
Providing gamers with the most authentic Ashes experience possible without having to don their whites, Ashes Cricket 2009 is fully licensed by the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board), the MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club, the world's most famous cricket club and owner of the Ashes urn) and Cricket Australia, providing the game with all the official players, kit, stadium – including Lords and The Brit Oval – and equipment from this year's Ashes Series.

Its Decent
28 August, 2009
Its a decent game, i dont know what the other guy is going on about, it just sounds like hes rubbish at it. i can bowl the computer out easy, and score some good runs. Admitidly the graphics are a bit poor, but i find the general gameplay good.
Good game, go and buy it!

Terrible Game
11 August, 2009
I bought this game with high expectations, Given I own and love Brian Lara Cricket 2005 and 2007, I was over the moon when I found out codemasters would be developing this game.
However, I found this game terrible. The batting control was awful, my experience being that if you didnt time a shot perfectly or have the stance exactly right, you were out, there was no room for error in a ridculously hard batting control,
The bowling was awful, it took ages to get a wicket, balls that would get any real batsman out simply 'missing' the wicket, or being easily defended by the AI. And balls that any real batsman would have smacked for 4 or 6 demolishing the stumps when the computer played a ridiculous shot before the ball had even been released.
And finally, the graphics, they look like they belong on a PS1, the players look absolutely nothing like their real life counterparts, Codemasters have made Andrew Flintoff's head look like it weighs about 2 stone by itself.
I hated this game, and wouldn't recommend it to any real cricket fan.
