Returning Items
If you have purchased a CD or DVD please see below. For all other items, including games, please contact the Online Service Team who will provide you with a returns address.
Unwanted Items
Please note that we no longer offer an exchange service on unwanted items. If you wish to exchange your order, please return the item for a refund, and place an order yourself via hmv.com for the alternate item. We are happy to refund unwanted items that are returned to us within 21 days.

Please enclose a note quoting your order number, the items you are returning, and stating that the items are unwanted, and you require a refund.

For the return of high value goods, we recommend that you use a recorded delivery service, as we cannot be responsible for non-delivery of returned items.
Incorrect or Faulty items

Should you receive any items that you did not order, or that prove to be faulty, you can return them to the following address, provided you are returning the item from within the UK:

Please enclose a note quoting your order number, what you are returning, the nature of the fault, and specifying whether you require the correct item to be sent out, or a refund. Overseas customers should use the following address, and any postage costs can be refunded to the payment card. Be sure to detail these costs in your note:

All goods that are returned to hmv.com are the responsibility of the customer and you may wish to send goods by registered post. We are not liable for goods that do not reach us.
Damaged items
If the damage is limited to standard cases, please visit the "Contact Us" page, email us with details of the damaged cases and we can send replacements out to you. If the damage affects the product itself, the libretto or any non-standard packaging, please follow the instructions for faulty items.
iPOD Returns
Under exceptional circumstances iPODS in perfect condition, and with all the original packaging intact, will be considered for exchange for another item when accompanied by a Customer Advice Note and within 21 days of purchase.
If your Ipod develops a fault, we have an iPod Technical Support Helpline, provided by TMTI (Talk Me Through It) on behalf of hmv. They may be able to help you with your product issue.
Therefore, we would appreciate it if you could give them a ring on 0844 4772 992 before returning your iPod to us. If they are unable to resolve your issues, please get back in contact with us and we will confirm the product returns details to you.
