Store Returns Information

We will exchange items purchased in error or unwanted gifts provided they are returned within 21 days in perfect condition accompanied by a receipt.

All goods must include original packaging. We are unable to accept items that have been previously exchanged or multiple returns.

In the unfortunate event that you should discover a fault with an item you have purchased; we will offer a replacement copy or refund if you prefer. We ask that you return the product within a reasonable time frame after its purchase date. Please be aware that hmv will only take back faulty products that contain a genuine manufacturing fault, accompanied with a receipt. We cannot be held responsible for accidental damage or misuse caused by the customer. In respect of technology products please read below.

Technology Returns

We will exchange any unwanted technology product provided it is returned unopened within 21 days in perfect condition accompanied by a receipt.

Should your technology product develop a fault or prove defective within 1 year of its date of purchase, we will happily offer you a like-for-like exchange. We ask that all technology returns are accompanied with a valid receipt with all accompanying parts i.e. accessories, manuals, cables, batteries etc.

If you are returning a faulty technology product that was purchased as part of a bundle, then we ask that you return all additional items that came as part of that bundle.

hmv cannot be held responsible for any technology product damaged by wear and tear or misuse.

Returns Exclusions

Headphones: In the interest of hygiene hmv will be unable to exchange or refund any headphones that have been opened and used, unless they are proven faulty.

PC games: hmv will be unable to exchange or refund unwanted PC games that have been opened, unless they are proven faulty. Once a PC game has been opened we have no assurance that the game has not been installed.
