product details & reviews
Fourth album from the New York state indie rockers, who have evolved over time from an emo-pop-punk act towards a darker, more broadly alternative rock sound. This album, the follow-up to 2007's 'The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me', has been described by the band as "dense" and more representative of their live sound. It includes the single 'At The Bottom' and has already received a glowing review from Rock Sound based solely on an incomplete 30-minute sampler.
Sep 2009
Formed on Long Island, New York, in 2000, Brand New have earned a huge international cult following and critical acclaim with their previous albums ‘'Your Favorite Weapon', 'Deja Entendu' and 'The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me'.
The band return with their career-best record 'Daisy', a thrilling and sparse alternative rock milestone, drawing comparisons with the likes of Biffy Clyro, Thrice, Modest Mouse, Mars Volta, Radiohead and more.
'Daisy' was started and finished in the basement studio of long-time friend (and sometime unofficial fifth band member) Mike Sapone, and was mixed by Dave Sardy (Oasis, Rage Against The Machine, Cold War Kids).
- Spin (p.74) - "^With] jagged art-punk riffs that routinely explode without warning. The sound is old-fashioned, but the fury is fresh."
Entertainment Weekly (p.70) - "Frontman Jesse Lacey can scream; he also packs a poison-drip whisper....An investigation of future stylistic destinations." -- Grade: B
Alternative Press (p.116) - 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "^A] record that feels half-improvised at times and brutally raw throughout. It's sonically akin to Nirvana's IN UTERO..."

I'll NEVER FORGET THIS ALBUM
29 September, 2009
BRAND NEW HAVE DONE SOMETHING WITH DAISY THAT I NEVER THOUGHT POSSIBLE.
ITS DENSE, SELF INDULGENT IN PLACES, I FELT LIKE I WAS COVERED IN CHOCOLATE.
ANYONE WHO LIKES BRAND NEW WILL LOVE THIS ALBUM IT IS THERE BEST BY FAR, EVERY SONG IS BRILLIANT THERE'S NOT A DULL MOMENT ON THE RECORD.
IF YOU DONT OWN THIS RECORD THEN YOUR LIFE IS INCOMPLETE.
I COULD DIE NOT HEREING ANOTHER ALBUM.
(THOUGH ANOTHER BRAND NEW ALBUM WOULD ALWAYS BE WELCOME, WEMBLEY ARENA HERE I COME!)
THIS IS BRAND NEW DOING WHAT THEY DO BEST - CREATING SOUNDS THAT YOU WONT HEAR FROM MORE MAINSTREAM ACTS OR ANY UNDER GROUND ACT.

The tour de force are back
25 September, 2009
I thought Brand New couldnt get any better after 'The Devil and God..' but they've taken a harder aproach and somehow created an even more electrifying and alternative album that stands out from all the rest.
The previous album showed a style and flare and this one is no different a real tour de force that is as catchy as it is emotional and sofisticated, surely up there with the best albums of 2009

Audio Mixer: D. Sardy.
Long Island-bred Brand New matched driving pop-punk/emo sounds with witty lyricism on their 2001 debut album, YOUR FAVORITE WEAPON, and in due course, they'd earned a big enough following to land the follow-up a home on a major label. DEJA ENTENDU showed the band growing by leaps and bounds, greatly expanding their sound and their production aesthetic. Their third album, THE DEVIL AND GOD ARE RAGING INSIDE ME, continued the progression, mining a darker vein and sporting more sophisticated songcraft.
