Indecent Proposal set for big-budget remake

The film was based on the novel of the same name by Jack Engelhard and starred Demi Moore, Robert Redford and Woody Harrelson.

1993 drama Indecent Proposal looks set to get a big-budget remake.

The film was based on the novel of the same name by Jack Engelhard and starred Demi Moore, Robert Redford and Woody Harrelson.

It told the story of Harrelson and Moore's David and Diana Murphy, a married couple who travel to Las Vegas, hoping they can win enough money to finance David's fantasy real estate project.  Sadly, they place their money on red in roulette and lose.

Later that night, the pair encounter Redford's billionaire John Gage. Gage is attracted to Diana and offers them one million dollars to spend a night with her, leaving the couple with a decision to make.

Erin Cressida Wilson, who adapted Paula Hawkins' hit novel The Girl On The Train, has taken charge of the script for the remake, with no director or star attached as yet.

Wilson is currently scripting Disney's live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. Paramount are overseeing the remake.

According to Collider, Wilson's remake may well involve more diverse leading men and women.

The original was a massive box office success, taking over $260 million at the box office.
