What is The Walking Dead about?
Former Sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes wakes from a coma, months after being shot on duty. He quickly discovers that the world has been subject to a zombie epidemic on an apocalyptic scale. After returning home to search for his family, Rick is faced with the realisation of the kind of world he is now living in. His life now revolves around fending off the zombie hordes and competing with other survivors who are prepared to do whatever it takes to live.

Why should I watch it?
If you think this is going to be the kind of show that will only appeal to horror fans or genre lovers, then you’re very wrong indeed. Much as the zombies play a key role in building up the world of The Walking Dead, what makes this show tick is the relationships between the survivors. Their fight for survival is gripping, as they deal with the other hostile living people, losing their loved ones, whilst finding shelter and food.
It’s baffling (and slightly scary) to imagine a real life zombie apocalypse, making you wonder what kind of society could be built back up from this kind of world?
The scripts are tight and manage to keep the plot moving quickly and every episode absolutely gripping.

With the rapidly growing breakdown of civilisation, the show follows normal people learning to deal with the very beginning of the outbreak.
