In My Record Collection, we dig down to the bottom of musicians' souls to find out what the most treasured parts of their record collection are. This week, it's the turn of jazzy dance types Big Gigantic and their mainman Dominic Lalli. Let's see what he opts for...

The record that made me want to be in a band was…

"This is Herbie Hancock's Flood. It made me want to push myself to play complex music with other musicians that were way better than myself. It inspired me to think about music in new ways and try new things. This record really changed and inspired who I am as a musician."

The record I've played more than any other is…

"I'd say Steely Dan - Peg. Always try to do my best Michael Mcdonald impression. Serious singing in the shower record."

The record that always makes me feel good is

"Got to be Frank Sinatra's Live at The Sands. It just always makes me smile. There's something about it. It’s a classic."

The record I turn to when I'm feeling down is…

"Radiohead's entire Kid A album. It takes me through all the feels and I come out feeling good about life at the end. I feel like a good album always takes the listener on a journey and this one absolutely does. It’s emotional and passionate and complicated."

The record I think is the most underrated of all time is…

"Bjork's Vespertine. She is a true genius when it comes to writing emotional music."

The record with my favourite cover art is…

"This has to be Spinal Tap - Smell the Glove. Hahaha..."

The record with my favourite title is…

"Outkast - Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik for the win. I mean come on!! It’s amazing."

The record I can't understand why everybody loves is…

"Any pop Country tune. I’m all for varied tastes in music, but it just feels like that kind of music is sort of on a different level when it comes to care and composition and style. It’s just not for me."

The last record I bought was…

"The last album I bought was that new Lettuce - Elevate. It's super slamming! Those guys are such incredible musicians and super close friends too. They just rip it."

The record I'm most looking forward to hearing in 2019 is…

"Well, we have some new tracks coming out that we’re REALLY looking forward to..."

The greatest record of all time is…

"The Notorious B.I.G. - Life After Death. Without question, without comparison. End of story."
