This eight disc boxset celebrating the career of British singer and songwriter Kirsty MacColl brings together 161 tracks recorded between 1979 and 2000, and features 47 previously unreleased recordings. Included is her second album 'Real', recorded in 1983 but never released, presented here complete and sequenced for the first time. Alongside all of Kirsty's singles, this collection includes album favourites, extended versions, B-Sides and bonus tracks, previously unreleased demo recordings, live sets form the Glastonbury Festival in 1992, and the Jazz Cafe, London in 1999, plus studio sessions and live performances originally recorded for BBC radio and television. The final disc is a selection of collaborations with other artists, as either singer or songwriter, and further illustrates how in-demand and versatile Kirsty's extraordinary talents were. This collection was compiled with the full support of Kirsty's estate, and with generous input from her family, friends and fellow musicians, who contributed to the sleeve notes, and made archive recordings available for the very first time.
