He is a monster prototype sculptor, focusing on Godzilla. He has sculpted more than 180 garage kits at 'Yuji Sakai Molding Studio' which he organizes. He has also worked on many prototype figures and models for major manufacturers and has a reputation for his reproducibility, creatureliness and dynamism. He has an established reputation and a large number of fans in Japan and abroad. As for film work, he sculpted the model of Orochi for 'Yamato-takeru' in 1994, and the model of Godzilla for 'Godzilla VS Dezilla' 1995.
