MODERN SLAVERY AND HUMAN TRAFFICKING STATEMENT 2026

INTRODUCTION

This statement sets out the steps that Sunrise Records and Entertainment Limited (‘Sunrise Records’, ‘we’, ‘our’) takes to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chains so far as reasonably practicable.

OUR BUSINESS

Sunrise Records is an established retailer that is headquartered in the UK, and which focuses on the sales of music, visual, technology, books, pop culture and other entertainment products.

We also host various events in our retail stores and in other locations, primarily focused on personal appearances and music..

We have strong brand recognition and presence in ‘hmv’, ‘The HMV Shop’ and ‘fopp’ branded retail stores and online through hmv.com and fopp.com.

COMPLIANCE

Sunrise Records is committed to ensuring that its business dealings are carried out in compliance with the relevant laws and, in doing so, we endorse the implementation and promotion of ethical business practices to protect workers from being abused and exploited.

Modern slavery is a crime and a gross violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

Sunrise Records has a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to help ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.

OUR STAFF

We are committed to providing a working environment that is open, inclusive, supportive and that is based on mutual respect and trust and where everyone feels valued, irrespective of age, sex, gender reassignment, pregnancy or maternity, disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation, marital or civil partnership status.

We have robust internal policies and processes in place to uphold and protect the rights and working conditions of our staff and to help ensure that all employees are safe.

We have internal policies available for staff to review and this includes a Whistleblowing Policy that staff can follow to report any matters that concern them, including concerns relating to modern slavery, human trafficking or other unethical practices.

OUR SUPPLY CHAINS

Our supply chains comprise suppliers that provide goods for us to sell to our customers in our retail stores and on our website and suppliers that provide goods that we as a business use internally and are not for sale. We also engage suppliers that provide services to our business, for example IT providers, insurance and courier services. The agreements we have with our suppliers are in writing and are fair and balanced.

Sunrise Records is committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains, consistent with our obligations in the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We shall expect the same high standards from all our suppliers, contractors and other business partners where appropriate.

Where required by law, we expect new and re-engaged suppliers to maintain an appropriate modern slavery policy, and we may review such policies as part of our supplier onboarding or review processes.

We assess modern slavery risks within our supply chains on a proportionate basis, taking into account the nature of the goods and services supplied.

We shall encourage the suppliers from whom we purchase goods for resale to follow the internationally recognised ETI Base Code. Where we supply contracts to our suppliers, we shall ensure that the contracts contain a section on Ethical Trading and Modern Slavery and that the supplier confirms that the goods they supply or source on our behalf have been manufactured in factories that meet or exceed the Minimum Ethical Standards of the ETI Base Code where applicable.

TRAINING

Our buyers are required to read the ETI Base Code and familiarise themselves with its content annually.

Our buyers request that suppliers they engage with provide details of their Modern Slavery Policy where appropriate. They also promptly highlight to the legal department of Sunrise Records any concerns they have with suppliers relating to modern slavery, bribery and corruption.

FINANCIAL YEAR

Sunrise Records’ financial year runs from June to May.

INTERNATIONAL OPERATIONS

There are HMV branded retail stores in Ireland, Belgium and The Netherlands that are operated by companies within our group of companies. These operations are a key part of our business, and we are committed to ensuring that the same high standards of ethical conduct and compliance with modern slavery laws apply across all European territories in which we operate.

The principles outlined in this Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement, including our zero tolerance approach to modern slavery, apply equally to our operations in Ireland, Belgium and The Netherlands. We work with our group companies to ensure alignment with our policies and practices, while also ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations regarding modern slavery and human trafficking.

We keep our policies under review to reflect evolving legal and regulatory expectations in the territories in which we operate.

STATEMENT PUBLICATION

This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the Board of Sunrise Records and Entertainment Limited. It is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for the year ending 2025.
