From iconic veterans breaking new creative ground to rising voices reshaping the sound of modern guitar music, this year’s rock landscape has been nothing short of extraordinary.
2025 has delivered a wave of albums that span decades, styles, and sensibilities… yet all share a commitment to authenticity and invention. Whether through raw emotion, genre fusion, nostalgic reinvention, or bold experimentation, these artists prove that rock remains a living, evolving force, as vital today as ever.

Suede - Antidepressants - Indie Album of the Year
Formed in London in 1989, Suede continue to impress with their tenth studio album, Antidepressants, produced once again by longtime collaborator Ed Buller. Described by frontman Brett Anderson as “broken music for broken people,” the album may be the band's darkest yet lyrically, exploring themes of morality over atmospheric instrumentals. With post-punk influences running through the album, notable tracks “Disintegrate” and the title track, "Antidepressants", beautifully showcase Richard Oakes’ guitar work and Anderson’s intimate storytelling, all anchored by a solid rhythm section. Raw and dynamic, Antidepressants is proof that Suede are still at their best.

Alice Cooper - The Revenge of Alice Cooper
For the first time in over 50 years, Alice Cooper and the original band reunite to bring rock 'n' roll back from the shadows! The Revenge of Alice Cooper is a high-voltage journey into vintage horror and classic '70s shock rock. Together, they've created an album packed with the sound, energy, and mischief that made them legendary. In a truly special moment, Glen Buxton, the band's original guitarist who passed away in 1997, makes a posthumous appearance through unreleased recordings, seamlessly blending the past with the present. The 2025 album is a celebration of friendship, nostalgia, and the sound that made Alice Cooper a rock icon. From the venomous bite of "Black Mamba," to the rebellious charge of "Wild Ones," and the soft, haunting melodies of "See You on the Other Side," every track feels like a lost rock 'n' roll classic.

Van Morrison - Remembering Now
With Remembering Now, Van Morrison returns to the transcendent, uncategorisable rhapsodies that make him unique. Soul, jazz, blues, folk, country - this is music in conversation with all of them but limited by none. Its rich with hallmarks of classic Van Morrison, from dominant themes of love in spirit with the great "Someone Like You" (the escapist romance of "Once In A Lifetime Feelings", the self-deprecating candour of "The Only Love I Ever Need Is Yours") to specific references to locations from his youth in the title track and "Stomping Ground". The title of another song, "When the Rains Came", echoes a lyric from his classic "Brown Eyed Girl".

Coined from 'Future' and 'Antique' the title reflects the album's theme of cherishing enduring relationships and memories. 'Futique' is a record in which their greatest strengths loom large: towering choruses, searing vulnerability, explosive dynamics and classic unexpected sonic curveballs. Their fourth number 1 record in the UK, the album is full of songs that are simultaneously immediate and deep, proving once again why they are Britain's most consistently inventive band.
