36 Hours Limited Collector's Edition

£34.99

Released: 15th June 2026. Hollywood tough guy Dan Duryea plays against type as an innocent man on the run in post-war London in this early Brit Noir from Hammer, one of the many crime thrillers they made in the early 1950s. Directed by B movie specialist Montgomery Tully and scripted by prolific pulp crime writer Steve Fisher, 36 Hours – and its American version, Terror Street – have been painstakingly restored by Hammer in 4K from original film elements. USAF Major Bill Rogers returns to London after more than a year overseas to find his wife has moved out of their apartment. Tracking her down to a swish West End pad, he gets drunk and wakes up to find her murdered – with his own gun. Discs Feature: New commentary on 36 Hours with author and critic Kim Newman and Barry Forshaw, author of Brit Noir and The Rough Guide to Crime Fiction.     New commentary on Terror Street with western/crime movie expert Toby Roan and Kit Parker, owner of the Robert Lippert archive.     United Kingdom of Noir: the BFI's Jo Botting and Vic Pratt examine Film Noir's oft-neglected and historically-undervalued doppelgänger, Brit Noir, and its relationship with other key genres of the era.     Shadows Across the Atlantic: Writer/producer Maxim Jakubowski, recipient of the Crime Writers’ Association Red Herring Award for lifetime achievement, takes a look at 36 Hours' scriptwriter Steve Fisher and the post-war influence of pulps and crime fiction in Britain.     Suspense: Dan Duryea stars in two episodes of American radio's legendary anthology drama series.     An extensive image gallery, including behind-the-scenes images, alongside tracks from Ivor Slaney's score. Booklet Features:     Article on the making of the 36 Hours by author and Hammer expert Wayne Kinsey.     New article on American co-producer Robert J Lippert by film historian Adrian Smith.     New article on American stars in British films by author and film historian Melanie Williams.     New article on Dan Duryea by Mike Peros, author of Dan Duryea: Heel with a Heart.     Reproduction production paperwork from the Hammer archive.
