Before he went into the jungle for Cannibal Holocaust, director Ruggero Deodato had already shown a different type of savagery. A crime wave is sweeping Rome and no-one's safe; fighting back, the Police take the gloves off. A special squad is formed to hit the villains, and its members include a pair of fearless/ reckless supercops played by Marc Porel (Don't Torture a Duckling) and Ray Lovelock (Living Dead at the Manchester Morgue) - licensed to do whatever they damn well want, crushing crime by any means necessary. Kicking off with an all-time motorbike chase and then accelerating into even higher gears, Live Like a Cop, Die Like a Man is one of the most infamous and brutal Italian cop films of the 1970s, showing Deodato's taste for going further than everyone else.
