British feature-length television adaptation of the children's novel by David Walliams in which a young boy sets out to free his grandfather from the care home in which he is living out his final days when he begins to notice some sinister goings on. Jack (Kit Connor) has nothing but admiration for Grandpa (Tom Courtenay) who was once a successful World War II pilot and now suffers from Alzheimer's disease, which has prompted his family to move him into a care home ran by the intolerable Miss Dandy (Jennifer Saunders). When Jack recognises that Grandpa is miserable in his new surroundings and that Miss Dandy has unsavoury agendas of her own, Jack promises to conduct a rescue mission to get Grandpa out of the home and the two embark on a hair-raising adventure together.
