When his subordinate DC Rob Brady (Bailey Patrick, The Nest) is implicated in the death of a witness, David interferes in the case, alarming second-in-command DS Vivienne Cole (Sharon Small, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries). Even as the team investigates other crimes - the murder of a military major, the stabbing of a medical student, an alcoholic who can't remember if she killed her husband - dissension grows within their ranks.
