Triple bill of supernatural horrors. In 'The Ring' (2002), an urban legend states that after watching a mysterious videotape the viewer will receive a telephone call telling them they only have seven days left to live. When a group of teenagers, who watched the tape and scoffed at the warning die after seven days, journalist Rachel Keller (Naomi Watts) decides to uncover this deadly mystery. She watches the tape, receives the call and enlists the help of her former partner, and technical whizz-kid, Noah (Martin Henderson) who is convinced that the story is a hoax. When the duo investigate further, they find links to a series of suicides at a horse ranch, and to a mysterious young girl. 'The Ring 2' (2005) is set six months after the terrifying events of the first film. Rachel has taken her son Aidan (David Dorfman) to the peaceful mountain resort of Astoria, where she takes a job on a local newspaper. When she discovers a case of a teenage murder victim, Rachel begins to suspect that the sinister videotape is responsible. Tracking down the tape, Rachel is quick to destroy it. But when her son slips into a coma, Rachel comes to believe that this might be the actions of the vengeful ghost, although for the local community it is beginning to look as if Rachel has been abusing her child. Returning to Seattle, Rachel begins a desperate race against time to uncover the secrets of the ghost's past, before it can use her son to cross over into this reality. Finally, in 'Rings' (2017), when her college boyfriend Holt (Alex Roe) becomes involved with a group obsessed by the dark and mysterious videotape which is said to kill the watcher after seven days, Julia (Matilda Lutz) sacrifices herself in order to save him from the deadly curse by watching the tape herself. However, after making a shocking discovery about the contents of the video, Julia is left desperately seeking answers as she attempts to overcome a series of disturbing visions and find a way of breaking the curse before her time runs out.
