Fourth studio album by the American country pop singer and songwriter. Mitchell co-wrote every song on the record with some of Nashville's finest, including Thomas Archer, Brad Clawson, Rodney Clawson, Devin Dawson, Chris DeStefano, Seth Ennis, Kyle Fishman, Jesse Frasure, Ashley Gorley, Josh Kear, Laura Veltz, and more. Mitchell titled the album 'This Is the Heavy' because the production packs a punch. 'It's big. It's loud. It's in your face and drum heavy,' Mitchell said. The project finds its own lane between a little bit country, and a little bit rock 'n' roll, and is without a doubt meant to be turned up. When describing the sound of the album, Mitchell laughingly coined a new genre: 'Farm Emo.' The album includes the hit single, 'Truth About You,' which hit #1 in the US just three weeks after his previous #1 single, 'At the End of a Bar', Mitchell's collaboration with label mate Chris Young.
