With dead wood cut loose and old deals unravelled, Tom Hudson, Rob Lee and Tommy Davidson-Hawley went back to their Leeds rehearsal space, Role Model, and started making music simply because they wanted to, enlisting producer James Kenosha, who worked on some of the band's earliest material. The result is abrasive, restless and unpredictable: vicious punk bangers, 80's goth and post-punk, motorik rhythms, sludgy riffs, fuzzed-up guitars, synths and huge hooks. Along the way, the 'Lynch-hole' became shorthand for making things weird and freaky.
