'Future Shock', the band's fourth studio album, was released by Virgin in 1981 and peaked at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart - Gillan's highest-ever placement. The title track hits like a sledgehammer, 'Lucitania Express' demands a full-throated chorus singalong, and the Top of the Pops-featured single 'No Laughing in Heaven' delivers a smirk-worthy blend of sharp lyrics and pseudo-rap. There's not a single weak moment - every track is heavy, melodic, and masterfully crafted, standing as the pinnacle of Gillan's work, both with this band and beyond. On this expanded edition, disc one consists of the original 'Future Shock' album and disc 2 features rarities and B-sides, which are appearing on vinyl for the first time.
