Originally released in July 1977, 'I Robot' draws conceptually on author Isaac Asimov's science fiction Robot stories, exploring philosophical themes regarding artificial intelligence. The album was a worldwide hit selling in excess of two million copies, achieving platinum and gold status in numerous countries. Like other Alan Parsons Project albums, there were a variety of different lead vocalists employed including Steve Harley, Allan Clarke, Lenny Zakatek, Peter Straker, Jack Harris and Jaki Whitren. Plus, a selection of session musicians such as guitarist Ian Bairnson and drummer Stuart Tosh with arrangements by Andrew Powell. This Super Deluxe box set features 4CDs containing a stereo remaster of the original album by Miles Showell plus 70 bonus tracks (47 previously unreleased) from studio out-takes, a Blu-ray featuring stunning Dolby Atmos and 5.1 Surround Sound mixes by Alan Parsons from the original multi-track master tapes along with a new stereo HD remaster of the original album by Miles Showell. The Blu-ray also contains the restored 'I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You' promotional video and interview footage of Eric Woolfson discussing the album. Also includes is a 45rpm 180gm heavyweight vinyl 2LP in a gatefold sleeve containing a half speed remaster by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios.
