In the summer of 1987, two of the world's most celebrated guitarists, John McLaughlin and Paco de Lucía, came together for an unforgettable performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland - a legendary gathering place for musicians from jazz, blues, R &B, soul, and pop. First, they performed solo: John opened the evening with 'My Foolish Heart', followed by 'One Melody', while Paco began with 'El Pañuelo' - a performance that immediately made it clear why he was setting standards worldwide as a flamenco guitarist. John and Paco then played the rest of the concert as a duo, presenting not only their own compositions, but also `Spain' by Chick Corea and `Frevo Rasgado' by Egberto Gismonti. 'Paco and John - Live At Montreux 1987', now available again, presents this extraordinary concert as a timeless document of two guitar legends at the height of their creative powers.
