Many thousands of words have been written about the post Pink Floyd career of Syd Barrett, but much of what has been written is contradictory or complete fabrication so it is not as easy as one would like to have thought to write descriptions of his only two radio sessions/broadcasts from 1970 and 1971. The music on this collection is very peculiar in that it showcases both Pink Floyd's original guitarist, and the one who would be in the band during the glory days. The unsung hero of it all is David Gilmour. After Syd Barrett's unravelling during the last few years of the 1960s, his replacement David Gilmour did his best to provide some sort of musical and emotional structure for him appearing with him on these radio sessions playing bass, electric guitar and organ as well as singing background vocals.
