Debut album by Terence Etc. (real name Terence Nance), the multidisciplinary artist from Dallas, TX, who is best known for his work in film, such as his award-winning experimental comedy sketch series ‘Random Acts of Flyness’ on HBO.
‘V O R T E X’ was written and produced by Terence, along with longtime friends and collaborators Solomon Dorsey, Nick Hakim and his brother Nelson Bandela. It defies easy categorisation but is forged with the same spirit of experimentation and adventure synonymous with Terence’s heroes André 3000 and Stevie Wonder, and contemporaries such as Solange, Standing on the Corner, Earl Sweatshirt and, indeed, Brainfeeder’s illustrious founder, Flying Lotus.
In 2019 Terence collaborated with Kamasi Washington (as part of the Ummah Chroma Creative Partners) on a film ‘As Told To G/D Thyself’ that debuted at the Sundance Film Festival.
